i'll be on the cover of Ladylike Magazine
the issue will come out in October! i understand Ladylike Magazine has been around for a while. majority of its readers covers largely the transvestite niche. it's not Victoria's Secret catalogue, but hey, i get to appear on a magazine cover, and Miss Angela from L.M. has let me write whatever i want for the part! so that's total coolness!
below is a little bit of the text i wrote for L.M.! Miss Angela is currently doing her side of the editing. in the meantime, the article is being edited by a friend of mine for my own site, so when i post it again, it'll read less like "me" but definitely more polished!
title: Love and Loathing in Los Angeles (LaLiLA)
"... No! This is not a revolutionary period-study think piece. This is supposed to read like a combination of the scripts of Friends with Money, Six Feet Under, The Hills, Pretty Persuasion, and Welcome to the Doll House – a social portrayal of personal insecurity and hallucination stripped away the rosy patina of nostalgia and fantasy, grim yet deliciously wicked, thus to prove that the awkwardness of growing-up/life will continue at all ages. However, I’m staying away from any dialogues on trans bodies because I think, if there’s one thing that we can really outdo and outfox the others, it’ll be putting our bodies under knives and needles. Like we are born to cut our bodies into pieces! Sweet! Also off the record are all the political conundrums on transgender legislation for the obvious reason that they are not my familiarity. Though, it must be emphasized that there should never be enough dialogues on the matter of our very rights in this country. Duhhhh! Don’t expect me to be classy either! I’m almost certain that I’ll never be a super duper classy lady who looks and sounds like she hasn’t shit for like a decade. I’m not classy period. Class is overrated! If you detect a hint of politeness in my writing, it’s nothing personal. It is somewhat automatic due to my ethnic gene pool. In the end, it leaves me with all things holly and divine like bitterness, frustration, cattiness, vengefulness, honesty, jealousy and loathing to write about. Don’t worry! This is the last time I’m going to write about something remotely meaningful with the least bit of sarcasm and irony. I just wanna make Linsay, Mischa, Paris, Mary Kate and Ashley jealous, for once, because their PR will never let them publish and rant and rave about something this un-PC, even they are not so PC on their own on Page Six. This is social suicide written with love..." >>>>>>entire text

Helen, I did not read your blog before today. But 2 weeks ago, I was at my local porn store and there was this most gorgeous lady on the cover of a mag and I knew it was you. It is a great interview and I really enjoyed the layout as well. Just come to the East Coast one day for a tour especially to DC. Take care of yourself, baby.
Love, Brian
